Plant Studies 6 - Old Oak Tree

The original to this model is an old oak that grows in southern Norway, named "Mollestadseika". One of the biggest and oldest trees in the country. - 15 meters in height and circumference around 950 cm. The age is over 1000 years wich means that it took root during the viking age. Another name is "Vetteika" after the Vettar (supernatural beings) that lives in it. To keep them happy, you have to pour beer on the tree regularly.
According to what I read about it, it also holds the spirit of an old farmer burried under the tree (before it grew up).
I visited it some years ago and then took a lot of pictures, which came in handy now.
It is not an exact copy but I tried to keep the size and main shape of it.
Also tried to catch the seasonal changes...

I made the snow both as a texture and modelled for growth animation.

I will try to keep the reduced model to around 10 000 polygons, with leaves.
